BELLINGHAM - Jim McNerney, chairman, president and CEO of The Boeing Co., will be the keynote speaker during Western Washington University's 11th Annual Seattle Business Forum luncheon on Monday, May 5 at the Westin Seattle Grand Ballroom.
Doors will open for the luncheon event at 11:30 a.m. Lunch is served at noon, with McNerney's keynote address at 12:45 p.m.
As chairman, president and CEO of The Boeing Co., Jim McNerney oversees the strategic direction of the Chicago-based, $61.5 billion aerospace company. Boeing has more than 153,000 employees and is the nation's largest manufacturer of commercial jetliners and military aircraft.
Before joining Boeing in 2005, McNerney served as chairman and CEO of 3M. He was with General Electric for 19 years, holding top executive positions: president and CEO of GE Aircraft Engines and GE Lighting; president of GE Asia-Pacific; president and CEO of GE Electrical Distribution and Control; EVP of GE Capital; and president, GE Information Services.
McNerney is a director of Procter & Gamble and serves as a trustee of Northwestern University. He is the chair of the US-China Business Council and The Business Council. He also serves on The Business Roundtable and the American Society of Corporate Executives. A native of Providence, R.I., McNerney earned a B.A. degree from Yale University in 1971 and an M.B.A. from Harvard University in 1975.
Program sponsorship is available for $10,000, which includes a table at the event and $9,000 for named WWU scholarships. A named scholarship and a table at the event are available for $3,000 each. Table sponsorships are available for $1,500. Each table seats 10, with the 10th seat filled by a WWU student, faculty or staff member. Individual tickets for the luncheon are $100 per person.
