13th Annual Holiday Light Festival at Griffith Park
Hosts a Special Preview "Bike Night"

When: Monday, November 24, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Where: The official 2008 Holiday Light Festival kick-off program will held at 5:00 p.m. at the L.A. Zoo parking lot, Thomas Brothers Map, Page 564, B5.

Note:  Cameras should set-up at start of the event, near the L.A. Zoo. This will be the traditional "flipping of the switch."

What: The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) will be sponsoring a preview special night for bicyclists to enjoy the 2008 Holiday Light Festival at Griffith Park.

Avid bicyclists will be able to ride their bikes through the one-mile display of dazzling lights in a special lane. A family lane will be made available to families who would like to bring their children to ride along the route. The family lane will be open to bicycles, tricycles, non-electric scooters and parents accompanying their children. Those who wish to come and view may walk along the walking path.

No cars or vehicles will be on the route during the special Bike Night. Visitors will be able to visit our mini "Bike and Fun Eco Fair" and pick-up information about the LADWP energy and water conservation programs. Partners, such as Radio Disney, KOST 103.5 Radio and others will also be on hand to help get everyone into the holiday spirit.

Why: The LADWP's Holiday Light Festival draws more than 600,000 visitors each and every year. It is an activity that is free and can be enjoyed by young and old alike.
