$6 Million More For Georgia Flood Survivors

ATLANTA –The total amount of state and federal funds going to survivors of September flooding increased by nearly $6 million in the past week.

Loans to individuals and businesses by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) passed $37 million and the amount of grants to survivors was more than $51 million as of Nov. 12.

The total: $88 million. More than 26,500 individuals and businesses have registered with FEMA for disaster assistance.

People who sustained damage in the 17 counties included in the major disaster declaration have until Monday, Nov. 23, to register – by visiting www.disasterassistance.gov or by calling 800-621-FEMA (3362), TTY 800-462-7585. Phone lines are open every day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET. Help is available in all languages.

The counties designated under the federal disaster declaration for assistance to individuals, families and businesses of all sizes are Bartow, Carroll, Catoosa, Chattooga, Cherokee, Cobb, Coweta, DeKalb, Douglas, Fulton, Gwinnett, Heard, Newton, Paulding, Rockdale, Stephens and Walker. SBA economic injury loans are available to small businesses only in additional counties.
