WHITEFISH BAY, Mich. (Mar. 14, 2007) -- The cutter Mackinaw (WLBB-30) conducted ice trials in 24-inch thick ice along the St. Marys and Neebish Rivers to Whitefish Bay March 14 after a period of three weeks testing the ship's capabilities. -

WHITEFISH BAY, Mich. (Mar. 14, 2007) -- The cutter Mackinaw (WLBB-30) took a break from ice trials after testing the ship's capability in 24-inch thick ice at 12 knots along the St. Marys and Neebish Rivers to Whitefish Bay March 14. -

CLEVELAND (Feb. 23, 2007) -- The Coast Guard Cutter Neah Bay returned to the Cleveland Moorings February 23 after an area familiarization mission to the Grand River. The Neah Bay's exercise coincided with a visit from Rep. Steven LaTourette (R-14/OH) to Station Fairport. In addition to Area Fam, the Neah Bay altered its mission to recommence flood control operations in the Grand River. along with the Canadian Coast Guard Ship Samuel Risley. The Neah Bay steamed as far as the Chagrin River, but it had to return to base because of excessively thick ice abeam. The decision to return was due to the fact local television media and The Plain Dealer rode along. -
