Bellingham High Teacher Jamie Yoos Selected as Regional Teacher of the Year
Bellingham High School science teacher Jamie Yoos has been named as the 2010 Regional Teacher of the Year by the Northwest Educational Service District (ESD) 189. He is one of only nine teachers in the state being considered for 2010 Washington State Teacher of the Year.

Central Lions Club Donates Heart Defibrillators to High Schools
The Central Lions Club of Bellingham recently donated automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to Bellingham, Sehome and Squalicum high schools, a gift worth $4,500.

Few Spaces Remain for Full-Day Kindergarten with Fall Registration Continuing for All Grades
All Bellingham Public Schools are now enrolling for fall. Please contact our schools to learn more about program offerings, events to welcome new students and families, tour schedules and opportunities to meet school leaders. Only a few spaces remain for full-day kindergarten at Alderwood, Carl Cozier, Happy Valley and Roosevelt elementary schools with a half-day kindergarten program offered at all schools.

Students from Happy Valley elementary school and Bellingham, Sehome and Squalicum high schools recently received state honors for musical performances. Columbia Elementary School won a sustainable school award.
