Coast Guard to hold press briefing on Air Station Sacramento's support

WHO: Cmdr. Gregory Buxa (USCG Air Station Sacramento executive officer), Cmdr. Mitchell Morrison (USCG Air Station Sacramento operations officer), Lt. Cmdr. Brian Palm (USCG Air Station Barbers Point, Hawaii C-130 pilot), Lt. Ryan Hawn (USCG Air Station San Francisco MH-65 helicopter pilot), and a USCG Critical Incident Stress Management team member.

WHAT: An availability of select members of Coast Guard Air Station Sacramento and surrounding units speak about the support for crew and family members during this difficult time.  As the search continues for the crew of a Coast Guard C-130 aircraft and Marine Corps AH-1 Cobra, Coast Guard units from across the country lend support to Air Station Sacramento.  Units lending assistance include the following: the Commandant of the Coast Guard, Adm. Thad Allen; Pacific Area Commander Defense Forces West, Vice Adm. Jody Breckenridge; and other members from units on the West coast and across the country.

Support also comes from a C-130 crew from Barbers Point, Hawaii; Cmdr. Darrel Wesley, a chaplain from Alameda, Calif.; members of the local fire department to assist with Critical Incident Stress Management; the local unit ombudsman; and a member of the command of the Eighth Coast Guard District in Louisiana.

WHEN: Saturday, 31 October, 2009 at 3:15 p.m. PST.
