The U.S. Coast Guard is responding to a fuel spill in San Francisco Bay, initially reported at 6:48 a.m. The source of the leak, from the tanker Dubai Star, has been contained and the following assets are on scene as part of the clean up and response: - two oil skimmers from National Response Corporation - five booming vessels - 1100 feet of boom deployed - Coast Guard MH-65 helicopter - two Coast Guard patrol boats - port, state and investigative officers The spill occurred during fueling operations between a lightering barge and the Dubai Star. The source of the spill has been contained and clean up is in progress. The Dubai Star was bunkering at anchorage nine when the spill occurred, south of Treasure Island in San Francisco, and is still in port there. ###
