Coast Guard plans to host formal public meetings to review, comment on a Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Goethals Bridge Replacement Project NEW YORK – The Coast Guard plans to host formal public meetings Wednesday, July 8, 2009 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Council Chambers of Elizabeth City Hall, 50 Winfield Scott Plaza Elizabeth, NJ and Thursday, July 9, 2009, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Harbor Room, Staten Island Hotel, 1415 Richmond Avenue, Staten Island, NY., to review and comment on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the proposed Goethals Bridge Replacement (GBR) Project. Presentations will be given on the project at 4:30 p.m. and repeated at 6:30 p.m. The public meetings will provide opportunities for the public to respond to the DEIS and provide input into the process. A court reporter will be available at the meetings to record public comments. The DEIS was prepared under the direction of the U.S. Coast Guard to comply with the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act and its implementing regulations.
