KODIAK, Alaska- Rear Adm. James Olson, commander, 17th Coast Guard District, salutes the American Flag along with fellow Coast Guard members during the beginning of the change of command ceremony at Long Range Navigation (LORAN) station Port Clarence, Alaska. LORAN station Port Clarence is located at Spencer Point on the western coast of the Seward Peninsula. It is approximately 75 miles north of Nome Alaska and 60 miles south of the Artic Circle.
