Unified Command Press Release

JUNEAU, Alaska - Due to inclement weather, all operational vessels have returned to
Dutch Harbor. While in port, the vessels will re-supply and conduct maintenance, decontamination
and cleanup. Today's opeartions will also be dependent on the weather.

The remote operated vehicle (ROV) conducted an investigation along the sea floor in Skan Bay,
section 11, and Humpback Bay, section 11, Friday. The ROV found two tar patties in Humpback
Bay, approximately 13 inches by 4 inches, and no tar patties in Skan Bay. Sand, sea life and plant life
appeared unaffected by oil spill in these areas.

No lightering from the wreck was conducted Friday due to weather conditions, however, lightering crews
previously completed removing all recoverable oil from the tanks on board the wreck and are now focusing
on skimming oil from the engine room. To date a total of 131,169 gallons of intermediate fuel oil (IFO) and
11,523 gallons of diesel have been removed from the wreck for a total of 142,692 gallons of IFO/diesel/water.

U.S. Fish and Wildlife crews recovered 38 oiled/scavenged birds Friday. To date 1,595 dead birds have been
recovered from the bays.

Today's weather in Dutch Harbor consists of southeast winds of 40 knots, six to seven foot seas, rain and
an air temperature of 44 degrees.
