ELIZABETH CITY, N.C.- Federal, state and local emergency response agency representatives are scheduled to conduct a press brief at U.S. Coast Guard Support Center Elizabeth City Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. to kick off an open house and discuss important measures local citizens can take to better prepare for emergencies.
Speaking at the brief are:
- Capt. Mark Rose, Commanding Officer, U.S. Coast Guard Support Center Elizabeth City;
- Tom Kriehn, Meteorologist in Charge, National Weather Service,
Newport/Morehead City; - Rear Adm. Richard R. Behn, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Director, Marine and Aviation
Operations Centers; - Bill Proenza, Director, National Hurricane Center;
- Dean Galezian, Regional Director, National Weather Service, Eastern Region Headquarters;
- Tom Collins, Eastern Branch Manager, North Carolina Emergency Management
