Coast Guard rescues 1 in Bear Creek, Md.

BALTIMORE - The Coast Guard rescued one person that was overdue at Lynch Cove in the Bear Creek Saturday.

Rescued was Vincent Bragg, 47.

Coast Guard Sector Baltimore watchstanders received notification of an overdue seven-foot kayak with one person aboard from a family member at 10 a.m.

Two response boat crews from Coast Guard Station Curtis Bay, Md., and a boat crew from Baltimore City Fire Rescue were dispatched.

A boat crew from Station Curtis Bay located Bragg at approximately 11 a.m. on the beach at Lynch Cove.  Bragg was later transferred to members of the Baltimore County Police Department once they arrived on scene.

The Coast Guard urges mariners to file a detailed float plan with friends, family, or your local marina and have a marine-band radio on hand at all times. A detailed float plan should include the number of people on your vessel, your intended destination and estimated time of return.
