Tanker aground near Philadelphia 

PHILADELPHIA - The Coast Guard and the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control are responding to a tanker which ran aground Monday 30 miles south of Philadelphia with 21 people aboard in the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal.

The Coast Guard received a call at 10 p.m. reporting the Tuchkov Bridge, a 600-foot Liberian flagged tanker, was aground.

A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Philadelphia, a rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Salem, N.J., a helicopter crew and two boat crews from the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control are on scene assessing the situation.

It is estimated the Tuchkov Bridge is carrying 195,000 barrels of crude oil aboard.

No pollution to the environment is reported.
