Coast Guard crews locate 1 near Absecon Creek, N.J.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - The Coast Guard located a missing 25-year-old man Friday in Big Fish Thorofare three miles east of Absecon Creek here.

Rescued was Kevin Showell.

The Coast Guard received a call at 11:15 p.m. Thursday from a family member reporting Showell overdue from a trip aboard his 14-foot camouflage boat. 

A rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City located Showell in the marsh near his boat in Big Fish Thorofare.

A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Atlantic City, N.J., transported Showell to the New Jersey State Police barracks.  Emergency medical personnel reported Showell had no medical concerns.

A helicopter rescue crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., a rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Atlantic City and members of the New Jersey State Police assisted in the rescue of Showell.
