Coast Guard crews searching for missing swimmer near Philadelphia
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - The Coast Guard is searching today for a 21-year-old man who disappeared while swimming with a friend 30 yards from the Talcony-Palmyra Bridge near Philadelphia. Missing is Sandro Valentine. The Coast Guard received a call at 7:21 p.m. from a member of the Philadelphia Police Department reporting Valentine disappeared under the water after he was caught in a strong current while swimming. A rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, a rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Philadelphia, members of the Philadelphia Police Department, members of Philadelphia Fire and Rescue and Swift Water Rescue are searching for the man.
