Bless Bellingham Day on May 3rd
The Covenant that God made with Abraham was a beautiful life verse.  It can be summarized in this sentence- I will bless you, and you will be a blessing.  In fact, through you every family on earth will be blessed.

We understand that blessing for every family through the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus.  We understand him as the fullfillment of that blessing.  Yet, in great  biblical fasion, that blessing continues through the body of Jesus, the Church.  We are called to continue being blessing.  God wants to Bless Bellingham, and he invites us to help.

We want to focus on that idea on Saturday May 3rd.  That is our first ever Bless Bellingham Day.  We don't have any programs or large events.  Instead we are encouraging each of you to be a blessing in your own mission field, your neighborhood, your family, your workplace, your town etc.  We encourage you to look around and find something you would like to do, and do it. Spend the day looking around for ways that you can bless Bellingham (as always, we call this bless Bellingham because I like alliteration, but we mean the Bellingham area, which includes where ever you are).

Our family has had a lot of fun thinking of things we can do in our neighborhood, we now have a list we can add to and work on for many months to come.  We will be working on cleaning up a vacant lot on the street, and then having a Bingo Night for the neighborhood at our house.  At the party we will be collecting money and food for the food bank.  We can't wait.

On Sunday we will be talking about what we did and what we saw God do on this day to live out our call to be a blessing.  As well I will be laying out our new vision for the next 5 years in our church.

In His Blessing,

Doug B.
