| Clearwater Coast Guard rescues man, dog **Video Available** |

CLEARWATER, Fla - The Coast Guard rescued a man and his dog at approximately 12:50 p.m. Sunday after his 42 foot fishing vessel was beset by weather approximately 50 miles west of Clearwater. Gregory Lansier, 46, from Hudson, Fla., contacted watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg, Fla., at 9:19 a.m. Sunday reporting he was unable to return to port on his boat, the Padre, due to weather conditions. A Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter rescue crew arrived on-scene and safely hoisted Lansier and his dog. Lansier was taken to Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater with no medical concerns. Weather conditions on-scene were 7-to-10 foot seas with 30-to-35 knot winds. |
