The Coast Guard Cutter Sea Dog, a newly-designed 87-foot coastal patrol boat, transits Tampa Bay, Fla., May 6, 2009 during sea trials. Coast Guard photo/ Petty Officer 3rd Class Rob Simpson. Sea Dog is an 87-foot coastal patrol boat commanded by Chief Warrant Officer Tyrome Tillett, and it has an assigned crew of 10 Coast Guard personnel. Sea Dog is the 73rd Marine Protector Class patrol boat constructed by Bollinger Shipyards of Lockport, La. Among many upgrades and uses of advance technology are integrated bridge systems and a stern launched small boat.
