Coast Guard Interdicts, Repatriates 101 Cuban Migrants 

MIAMI - The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Yellowfin and Sawfish repatriated 101 Cuban migrants to Bahia de Cabanas, Cuba, Friday and Saturday and transfered two suspected smugglers to Customs and Border Protection officials.

The crew of the Cutter Yellowfin interdicted four Cuban migrants on a rustic vessel 50 miles south of Key West, Fla., Friday; eight Cuban migrants from two rustic vessels 59 miles south of Key West and 40 miles South of Marathon, Fla., Thursday, and 10 Cuban migrants from two rustic vessels 35 miles south of Marathon and 52 miles southwest of Key West Wednesday.

The crew of the Cutter Kodiak Island intercepted 18 Cuban migrants on a rustic vessel 65 miles south of Key West Wednesday. 

Coast Guard crews intercepted 45 migrants throughout five different cases July 2. 

The crew of the Cutter Confidence interdicted a go-fast boat carrying 30 migrants and two suspected smugglers 35 miles south of Dry Tortugas, Fla., Monday.  The two suspected smugglers were transferred to Customs and Border Protection officials in Key West.

Six Cuban migrants on an unseaworthy vessel were located by a Coast Guard Station Marathon small-boat crew 25 miles south of Marathon. 

A boat crew from Coast Guard Station Key West interdicted eight Cuban migrants in a rustic vessel 50 yards off Stock Island, Fla. 

Coast Guard Cutter Key Biscayne intercepted a rustic vessel with three Cuban migrants aboard 13 miles south of Islamorada.

Fourteen Cuban migrants on a rustic vessel were intercepted by the crew of the Cutter Confidence 13 miles south of Dry Tortugas. 

Once aboard Coast Guard cutters, all migrants receive food, water and any necessary medical attention.

The Coast Guard Cutter Yellowfin and Sawfish are 87-foot patrol boats.
The Coast Guard Cutter Kodiak Island and Key Biscayne are 110-foot patrol boats.
The Coast Guard Cutter Confidence is a 210-foot medium-endurance cutter.
