Free series launches with "Business Wellness Check" Mar. 19
We're hearing a lot of bad economic news. Do you know how your business is doing? Join local business and economic development experts for a free Business Wellness Check, 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Mar. 19 at the Mount Baker Theatre's Walton Room.
This is the first of six free monthly sessions designed to help you keep your business strong and healthy in this difficult economy.
The Mar. 19 session will focus on tracking the health of your business, identifying early warning signs so you can make course corrections, and learning things your banker wish you knew. The session also will allow local business people an opportunity to schedule free, confidential business wellness audits and provide access to other resources.
Presenters at the Mar. 19 session will include:
- George Bowen, People's Bank
- Tom Dorr, Center for Economic Vitality
Sessions in this series are planned for the third Thursday of every month through August, 2009. March 19 attendees will help set future session topics, which may include:
- Increasing sales in a down economy;
- Budgeting in uncertain times;
- Cash flow;
- Stress management;
- Staffing changes;
- Using marketing and communications to position yourself for the times.
The series is sponsored by the City of Bellingham, Sustainable Connections, Center for Economic Vitality (formerly SBDC), the Technology Alliance Group for Northwest Washington, Bellingham/Whatcom Economic Development Council and the Downtown Bellingham Partnership.
Please RSVP for the Mar. 19 session to Tara Sundin, City of Bellingham Planning and Community Development, 778-8300 or tsundin@cob.org
