Local Technology Companies Makes the .Inc Fastest Growing List
Four Whatcom County businesses have landed on a national magazine's list of fastest-growing companies. Inc. magazine released its list of 5,000 fastest growing private companies in its September issue, which hits newsstands today. Making the list were Logos Research Systems (ranked 3,061) Toolhouse Design Co. (3,959) and Ryzex Group (4,928).
The Inc. 5,000 ranking is based on percentage revenue growth from 2003 through 2006. The companies must be U.S.-based and privately held. Revenue in 2003 must have been at least $200,000 and revenue in 2006 must have been at least $2 million. The number of employees is based on numbers at the end of 2006. Logos' growth between 2003 and 2006 was 105.4 percent. It had $15.1 million in revenue in 2006, according to the report. The Bellinghambased Bible software manufacturer has 130 employees. Toolhouse Design is a Bellingham advertising and marketing firm that posted 64.1 percent growth and had a 2006 revenue of $2.2 million. With 15 employees, the company focuses on interactive media on the Internet. Ryzex posted a 24.8 percent increase during the period, generating $69.4 million in revenue in 2006. The company, which repairs and refurbishes data collection equipment, now has 360 employees. The company is also on Inc.'s "Green 50" list and maintains a zero waste policy.
