COAST GUARD RESCUES MAN FROM DETROIT RIVER

DETROIT - At approximately 1227, the Coast Guard received a report from Detroit 911 dispatch of a bridge jumper from the Douglas MacArthur bridge, which connects Detroit to Belle Isle.  Coast Guard Station Belle Isle's small boat launched and recovered the man from the river.  Coast Guard crews provided CPR and rescue breathing and transported him to Coast Guard Base Detroit, where he was transferred to local EMS.  He was subsequently transported to the Riverview Hospital.
