GRAND HAVEN, MICH.-- Coast Guard crews are currently searching the waters of Lake Michigan for a 19-year old male who was washed from the Grand Haven Pier by a wave.

The man was on the pier with several friends when he was swept off by a large wave at 11:23 p.m. eastern time.

Currently an HH-65 rescue helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City is conducting an air search of the area. A 47-foot motor lifeboat from Coast Guard Station Grand Haven also assisted in the search.

The search continues.
