Cleveland -- The Coast Guard along with local marine units are searching for a person who entered Lake Erie tonight near East 72nd Street in Cleveland.
The Coast Guard received a report at 6:30 p.m. that a person had possibly jumped into the chilly waters of Lake Erie.
The Coast Guard dispatched a 23-foot rescue boat to the area and began searching the water. Cleveland Ports and Harbors authorities are also searching the waters around East 72nd Street. Cleveland Police have officers on shore searching, as well as divers in the water just off the location where it appeared the person entered the water.
