COAST GUARD RESCUES HYPOTHERMIC MAN SAGINAW BAY, Mich. -- Coast Guard Station Saginaw River rescued a hypothermic 45-year-old man from a capsized 15-foot personal craft near Buoy No. 10 in the Saginaw Channel today at approximately 7 a.m. "He'd been clinging to his boat since 1:30 in the afternoon (Sunday). Yesterday he started swimming to shore," said Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class Jeff Mitchell. According to Mitchell, the man drifted a couple of miles from were he started in Linwood. Mitchell and his 25-foot small response boat crew transferred the man to awaiting Emergency Medical Services at the station.
