MSD Massena Ballast Water inspection
MASSENA, N.Y. -- Marine Science Technician 2nd Class Patrick O'Hare of Marine Safety Detachment Massena checked the salinity of ballast water aboard the Italian-flagged vessel BBC Finland in the Eisenhower Locks in Massena, N.Y. Oct. 19. The test is done to ensure vessels entering the Great Lakes are exchanging ballast water to remove any invasive species.
