COAST GUARD CREWS RESCUE 4 PEOPLE FROM WATER OFF FREEPORT, TEXAS

GALVESTON, TEXAS - Coast Guard Air Station Houston and Station Freeport rescued four people from the water Sunday night approximately eight miles southeast of Freeport.

About 8:10 p.m., Coast Guard Group Galveston received a distress call from an unknown vessel that was relayed from the offshore supply vessel Tony B.

Coast Guard station Freeport launched a 47-foot motor lifeboat crew and Air Station Houston deployed an HH-65 dolphin helicopter crew. At approximately 12:14 a.m. today, the helicopter crew located four people in the water wearing life jackets and directed the motor lifeboat crew to that location.

By 12:40 a.m., Station Freeport's crew had recovered all four people in the water and transported them, in good health, to Coast Guard Station Freeport.

Rescued were: Ted Fuchs from Cypress, Texas; and Brian King, Andrew Kyle and Tanya Kyle, all from Houston.
