HOUSTON – Coast Guard aircrews are searching for the pilot of a commercial helicopter that apparently went down 60 miles south of Sabine, Texas, this morning.

Petroleum Helicopters Inc. notified the Coast Guard at approximately 8:45 a.m. that they had a helicopter go down with one man onboard while it was transiting from the oil rig at High Island 573.

A helicopter crew from Air Station Houston and a jet crew from Corpus Christi, Texas, are searching for the pilot.
