Coast Guard rescues man in Cave Bay

NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard rescued a man suffering from chest pains today off a recreational vessel, 20 miles south of Venice, La., near the Southwest Pass in Cave Bay.

Coast Guard Station Venice received a call from the man at approximately 2:30 p.m. requesting medical assistance.  Station Venice immediately launched a 25-foot rescue boat and crew to assist him. 

The man was transported to Station Venice were Plaquemines Parish EMS was standing by.

The man's condition is unknown.
