Coast Guard rescues 3 fisherman off disabled vessel

NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard rescued three fisherman off a 90-foot shrimp vessel, the Capt. Kyle,  25 miles south of the Southwest Pass in the Gulf of Mexico late Monday, Dec. 1, 2008.

Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a call from a crewmember aboard the vessel reporting that the crew of three were encountering foul weather and that the vessel was leaning to the left side.

Sector New Orleans launched an HH-65C rescue helicopter and crew from Air Station New Orleans to assist. 

The three fishermen were airlifted and transported safely to Air Station New Orleans where they were met by EMS.
