LOCAL FEDERAL EMPLOYEES HONORED FOR SERVICE | |
| NEW ORLEANS - The New Orleans Federal Executive Board (FEB) sponsored this year's annual Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW) program, which showcases exceptional federal service through the Distinguished Service Awards Luncheon held in New Orleans on Wednesday and the Government Agency Resource Fair in Metairie on Thursday.
The first event was the Distinguished Service Awards Luncheon at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel, Wednesday, May 7, 2008. This award luncheon program is held each year to recognize the very best in federal public service and culminates with the presentation of awards to the most outstanding employees in various categories. The winners were nominated by their agency or peers and selected by a special committee of Judges. The 2008 PSRW award winners, who were honored at the luncheon, are: Outstanding Professional Employee -- Linda Davillier, U.S. Postal Service

The fair included representatives from 27 government agencies and provided the opportunity for local citizens to get questions answered concerning federal services.
PSRW, celebrated the first Monday through Sunday in May each year since 1985, is intended to inform Americans about the broad variety of services provided by government. It also serves to recognize the valuable services provided by millions of public servants to the Nation.
