COAST GUARD MEDEVACS FISHERMAN

NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard medavced a fisherman, Chau Tran, 53, from his sinking vessel approximately 10 miles south of Bayou Caddy early this morning. 

A watchstander from Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a call from a friend of Tran, reporting he had been missing since Sunday.  

The Coast Guard launched a HH-65C rescue helicopter and crew from Air Station New Olreans.

The crew medevaced and transported Tran to Gulfport Memorial Hospital to be treated for hypothermia.
