Coast Guard and Thunder Over Louisville Safety Coalition to Hold Joint Press Conference
Louisville, Ky - The Coast Guard Captain of the Port, Capt. Hung Nguyen and the Thunder Over Louisville Safety Coalition will hold a pre-event press briefing at the Waterfront Park's Great Lawn Friday at 10 a.m. to address marine law enforcement operations during the Thunder festivities. "The Coast Guard's goals during this year's Thunder Over Louisville," says Nguyen, "is to promote safety and security, as well as work hand in hand with the local and state agencies strengthening our partnerships and ensuring a successful marine event." The safety coalition consists of the Coast Guard, Coast Guard Auxiliary, Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, Louisville Metro Police, Harrods Creek and North Oldham Fire Departments. This will be the Coast Guard's 18^th year participating in the Thunder Over Louisville marine event.
