COAST GUARD RESCUES MAN FROM BURNING BOAT

PENSACOLA, Fla. -  The Coast Guard rescued a man from a burning, 17-foot boat near the north end of the Pensacola Bay Bridge at approximately 7:30 p.m., Thursday night.

Coast Guard Station Pensacola received a mayday transmission from a man reporting an engine fire on board his 17-foot bass boat. Coast Guard Sector Mobile launched a 25-foot rescue boatcrew from Station Pensacola and they arrived to find the boat engulfed in flames and were able to rescue the man from the water at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Station Pensacola transported him to the 17th Street  Marina in Bayou Texar. He was reported to be in good condition.
