Dear Northern Heights Families and Friends,
The Bellingham School District recently changed the policy that governs transfer requests between district schools. Northern Heights is currently accepting applications from families who live outside our established attendance area. Families interested in attending Northern Heights are encouraged to submit the form for Request for Student Area Transfer between Schools in the Bellingham School District by the end of the school day on Friday, March 27. This may be submitted to the school in their current attendance area OR to Northern Heights. Meeting this deadline will ensure priority consideration for the 2009-10 school year and families will be notified of the transfer request decision in mid-April. Requests received after March 27 will be given consideration and families will be notified of the decision in August.
We believe Northern Heights’ offers students and their families a high quality academic program delivered in a caring community-based school. We encourage the interest of our friends currently attending private schools and other Whatcom County school districts. We are also currently accepting applications for families who want a transfer from other Whatcom County school districts to Northern Heights.
We will hold an Open House for interested families on Friday, April 17th. At this time parents will have an opportunity to meet the Principal, hear about school programs and tour the school and classrooms. Watch for more information in the coming days.
