Student Agenda Information: SCHOOL TRANSPORTATION I understand that I need to act in a mature fashion on all school transportation vehicles and in bus lines. If I use inappropriate behavior, I will be disciplined or I may have my riding privilege denied.
TRANSPORTATION RULES 1. The bus driver is in full charge of the bus and students. 2. Students crossing roads must do so under the direction of the bus driver and cross only in front of the bus. 3. Students must observe classroom conduct, be courteous, not use profanity, teasing, name calling, or physical abuse. 4. Students must keep the bus clean; no eating or chewing gum. 5. Students must remain seated at all times; keep head, hands and feet inside the bus. 6. Students are not allowed to take pets, animals, or hazardous objects on the bus. 7. Students getting off at another stop or riding a different bus, need to bring a written note from a parent to the office before 12:30 p.m.
TRANSPORTATION SANCTIONS 1. Verbal Warning--The bus driver reviews behavior expectations for the student and identifies the bus rule that is being violated. 2. First Written Offense--The bus driver assigns seats for one week and writes the first discipline report. The school official contacts parents by phone or mail. 3. Second Written Offense--The bus driver writes the second discipline report, the student is denied riding privileges for three days; a conference is held with the parent(s) or guardian(s), as needed (attended by the principal or designee, transportation supervisor, etc.) 4. Third Written Offense--The bus driver writes the third discipline report; the student is denied riding privileges from five days to remainder of the semester.
SKATEBOARDS/ROLLER BLADES/SCOOTERS Safety is a real concern for everyone at Fairhaven. In order to ensure safety, I will not ride nor use my skateboard, roller blades, or scooters on campus. I will store/take my skateboard, roller blades or scooter to my locker. If it does not fit into my locker, I am responsible to find a secure storage place for my skateboard, roller blades, scooters, etc. I understand that I may not store these items in the office or in hallways for safety reasons.
SNOW DAYS In the event of an emergency or snow condition day, I can listen to KPUG, KGMI, or other local stations to become informed of any changes in the regular schedule.
I may also phone the school district for an update on weather/bus routes - 676-6400 or visit the Bellingham School District website: I understand that there may be no one available to answer the phone if I call Fairhaven Middle School, especially if school is cancelled.
Athletic Schedules: Volleyball (girls 7th & 8th); Wrestling
