Eighty graduates and 30 current students from Bellingham, Sehome and Squalicum high schools have earned the College Board distinction as AP Scholars in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement Program (AP) exams given in spring 2008.

All three high schools offer a variety of AP courses to challenge students to take college-level courses while in high school, and receive college credit, advanced placement, or both, for successful performance on the AP exams.

National AP Scholar
This highest honor, which is granted to students who received an average grade of at least 4 on a 5-point scale on all AP exams taken, and grades of 4 and higher on five or more of these exams. One student earning this distinction is Sehome graduate Dylan Marriner, for his high scores in calculus BC, chemistry, computer science, English language and composition, English literature and composition, U.S. government and politics, physics, Spanish language, U.S. history and world history. Christopher Pauly, another Sehome graduate, earned this distinction with calculus AB, calculus BC, chemistry, English language and composition, English literature and composition, U.S. government and politics, human geography, physics, statistics, U.S. history and world history. Bellingham High graduate Laura Asbe earned this distinction with biology, calculus AB, English language and composition, English literature and composition, U.S. government and politics, U.S history and world history.

AP Scholar with Distinction
This honor is granted to the following students who received an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. Bellingham graduates include Christopher Aiken, Taylor Boren, Ann Hoag, Michelle Klein, Brittany Lewis, Chelsea Parker, Daniel Read, Graham Thomas, Lilian Vanderstaay, Nathaniel Wheeler and current Bellingham seniors Madeline Hopper and Christopher Thorsvik. Sehome graduates include Andrew Carlson, Anders Crabo, Karen Frankenfeld, Jordan Helms, Marc Horan-Spatz, Katherine Howard, Claire Howell, Seung Lim Hyun, Brandon Lee, Margaret Liu, Dylan Marriner, Catherine Moore, William Moore, Aaron Nash, Christopher Pauly, Kathryn Salisbury, Christina Thompson, Patricia Vanderbilt, Jenny Willis and current Sehome seniors Leo Baunach, Bryn Smith and Rolf Ypma.

AP Scholar with Honor
This honor is granted to students who received an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. Bellingham graduates include Hilary Anderson, Max Calenberg, Ezra Citron, Clifford Davis, Maxwell Freimund, Zack Halverson, Kelsey Hathaway, Alexa Mullarky and current Bellingham seniors Dylan Albrecht, Meghan Griffin, Samuel Lewis, Nigel Packer, Bethany Polhamus and Ryan Sutley. Sehome graduates include Elizabeth Carroll, Juliet Law, Tessa Nesbit, Rebecca Olason, Alyson Rae, Cathryn Smith, Anemarie Wynn and current Sehome seniors Angela Hess, Sean Keyes, Zoey Koontz and Benjamin Phillips. Squalicum graduates include Isaac Bahr, Heron Garcia Huerta, Elizabeth Hodgin and Kelly Shilhanek and current Squalicum seniors Drew Morrill and John Turk.

AP Scholar
This honor is granted to students who received grades 3 or higher on three or more AP exams. Bellingham graduates include Zoe Bronstein, Sondra Clark, Katherine Eberdt, Mark Hunter, Jacob Lundgren, Kenneth Schaumberg, Michael Takemura, Phoebe Talbot, Allison Townsend, Tyler Tse, Colin Wheatley and current Bellingham seniors Calvin Atkins, Sierra Rivers, Mitchell Stoneberg and Julianne Thoma. Sehome graduates include Mackenzie Allen, June Choi, Wesley Drilias, Cameron Haas, Hannah Ingham, Elani Koogle, Tomas Lough, Emily Rhoades, Carrie Sloane, Paul Teeft-Meeker, Kelsey Willson, Michail Youngquist and current Sehome seniors Brennan Ashton, Cristina Freels, Margaret Landis, Sara Matijascic, Titus Rhode, Jody Sharninghausen, Tyler VanDooren, Zi Yue Zhuang and junior Evan Ingalls.
