Last school year, a Use of Time Task Force of parents and staff recommended changes that were approved by the School Board for this school year's early release and conference schedules. Elementary and middle schools are now aligned with the high school semester calendar. Previous trimester grading and reporting (three times a year) at the elementary and middle level will now be twice a year (semester), in January and June.  As a result, the elementary and middle school conferences have returned to November to provide families with an update on a student's progress at an earlier opportunity, prior to report cards. This task force will be collecting feedback from families on this new schedule later this winter.

The purpose of the conferences is to provide an opportunity to discuss and report student progress at approximately the halfway point in the semester. This is time to share with the family each individual student's strengths, needs, and progress through student work, as well as to listen to a family's insights about their child.

In addition to the elementary/middle conference schedule, high school students will release at 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 21;  Options/GRADS will release at 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 21. High schools are closing early before the holidays to align with elementary and middle schools.  Staff will use this time to support students with their culminating projects and to help all students in getting ready for graduation and beyond.

All schools and offices will be closed on Nov. 22 and 23 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
