The Bellingham School District received a 2007 Gold Medal award for preparing graduates for the work force from a national magazine that ranks 2,800 school districts throughout the United States.
Bellingham ranks in the top 16 percent nationwide of the school districts studied that have at least 3,300 students and a high school program.
Expansion Management, aimed at helping companies relocate, has ranked school districts for 16 years using an Education Quotient based on SAT and ACT scores and graduation rates.
