Community members are invited to meet the finalists in Bellingham School District's national search for a new superintendent from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 19 in the Bellingham High School Commons. The School Board will select and announce the finalists earlier that week. They plan to select a new superintendent in May.
Updates and information about the finalists, when announced, will be posted at http://www.bham.wednet.edu/employment/SuperintendentSearch.htm
Superintendent Dale E. Kinsley announced his plans to retire effective June 30 after 16 years of leading the district.
In January, community members met with the search consultant during a series of public meetings to provide input on the characteristics and qualities desired in a new superintendent. A recruitment brochure was developed from this input, outlining the desired qualifications as well as the strengths and challenges of the district. A Community Advisory Committee, consisting of community members, parents/guardians and staff selected by the School Board, is now working with the Board on checking references of finalists.
The selected finalists will visit the district with the opportunity on April 19 for the public to meet the candidates.
