It's not too early to sign-up to volunteer a few hours on May 17 or 18 and support graduating seniors as they complete the final presentations for their culminating projects. About 700 high school seniors in the Bellingham School District will be presenting their culminating projects on these two days.
The culminating project is a graduation requirement through which students demonstrate what they know and are able to do as they finish their k-12 education. Students are encouraged to identify projects that match passions or interests, demonstrate stretches in their learning and connect to the community.
About 500 community panelists are needed to join the high school staff members on panels during the afternoon and evenings of May 17-18. The time commitment for participating is three to four hours. Volunteers will receive food, training and the opportunity to observe four seniors' presentations.
If you are interested in serving on one of the panels, please complete this online form, indicating your interest, including your choice of time and/or high school: http://www.bham.wednet.edu/learning/culminating-project/documents/CPComPanelist.pdf For more information, call 676-6470 ext. 4437.
