On April 20th the Deepwater Horizon drilling unit exploded and sank, subsequently causing oil to begin spilling into the gulf. BP and the Coast Guard were facing a crisis of massive proportion, luckily both had been using the PIER crisis communication system for nearly a decade before and knew it would be the ideal communication tool for Unified Command from the beginning through the aftermath.

Now PIER founder and O'Brien's Executive Vice President of Communications Gerald Baron will be preseting a one hour briefing to outline the communication effort to support Unified Command and provide observations for future multi-agency responses.
