Coast Guard searching for man overboard near La Push, Wash.

SEATTLE — The Coast Guard is searching for a 24-year-old fisherman who fell from a crab fishing vessel approximately 20 miles west of La Push, Wash., Sunday.

Coast Guard Group/Air Station Astoria, Ore., received a call at approximately 10:30 a.m. from the Vicious Fisher homeported in Bellingham, Wash., that a crew member had fallen overboard. The reporting source stated the fisherman was wearing rain gear without a lifejacket when he was last seen.

An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Coast Guard Group/Air Station Astoria, Ore., was launched to conduct a search. Two 47-foot motor lifeboat crews from Coast Guard Station Quillayute River, Wash., are also assisting with the search.
