ASTORIA - A Coast Guard HH-65C helicopter crew from Group/Air Station North Bend rescues a man from Burnt Mountain near Coquille, Ore., Nov. 18, 2009. The man injured his leg while hunting and was flown to Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay, Ore. United States Coast Guard video by Group/Air Station North Bend. ASTORIA — The Coast Guard rescued a hunter from Burnt Mountain near Coquille, Ore., Wednesday. Coast Guard Group/Air Station North Bend received a call for assistance with the rescue of a man who injured his leg while hunting. An HH-65 helicopter crew was dispatched to rescue the man who was taken to Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay, Ore. The missions of Group/Air Station North Bend include maritime search and rescue, enforcement of laws and treaties, providing aids to navigation, and marine environmental protection. In addition, the air station frequently assists federal, state and county agencies by responding to calls for assistance with inland searches and medical evacuations of injured loggers. |
