Man rescued from Necanicum River |

ASTORIA, Ore. - A Coast Guard MH-60 helicopter crew rescues a man from the Necanicum River near Gearhart, Ore., Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009. Coast Guard video by Group/Air Station Astoria. ASTORIA, Ore. — The Coast Guard rescued a man from the Necanicum River near Gearhart, Ore., Sunday, after his canoe flipped in heavy surf. Seaside, Ore., 911 contacted Group/Air Station Astoria at 12:25 p.m. requested assistance with the search for the 52-year-old man who was seen to flip over in his canoe. An MH-60 helicopter crew was dispatched to the scene where they were able to successfully rescue the man from the water. |
