SEATTLE - The Coast Guard responded to a report of a sunken fishing vessel at the Makah Marina in Neah Bay, Wash., Wednesday night.

Coast Guard Station Neah Bay, Wash., received a report at approximately 9:25 p.m., from the Neah Bay Dispatch that the fishing vessel Neptune had capsized dockside at the Makah Marina.

A 25-foot response boat crew from Station Neah Bay, Wash., was launched to investigate.

The vessel was reported to have six gallons of pollutants onboard.

At approximately 6:30 a.m., today, personnel from Station Neah Bay reported evidence of a sheen and the Makah Marina Harbor Master put a preventative boom down on the water to contain possible pollutants.

The owner/operator of the Neptune and Makah Marina Harbor Master are making arrangements through a private contractor to salvage the vessel.

The cause of the Neptune's sinking is unknown at this time.
