Coast Guard locates missing boy at Bayocean Peninsula

ASTORIA, Ore. — The Coast Guard located a missing boy at Bayocean Peninsula near Garibaldi, Ore., Monday.

Group/Air Station Astoria received a report of the missing seven-year-old at 12:59 p.m. and launched an MH-60 helicopter crew to assist the Tillamook Sheriff's Office with their search.  The child went missing while playing with friends near the beach and had been gone for two hours.  He was found by the Coast Guard crew approximately four miles from where he was last seen wandering along the shore of the peninsula.

The Coast Guard crew stayed on scene with the boy until Tillamook Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue members arrived to escort the boy back this parents with an ATV.  The child was cold when he was found, but had no injuries.
