Team Seattle and Coast Guard members from throughout the nation have converged on the Seattle Grand Hyatt Hotel to prepare for the 9th North Pacific Coast Guard Forum Experts Meeting. They are exercising plans to ensure delegates from China, Canada, Japan, South Korea, and Russia have a smooth arrival. Active duty, reserve and civilian members with foreign language skills have arrived in Seattle and are ready to lend their abilities to this important meeting.
A command post in the Hyatt has been established, and the team is polishing event plans to ensure our guests have a productive and enjoyable visit. U.S. delegates are arriving and preparing to engage with their NPCGF colleagues to map out plans for 2008 and the future.
The Grand Hyatt staff has been a superb teammate in this effort; no detail has been overlooked, and the venue is ready to receive our guests. Vice Adm. Charles Wurster, the chairman for the 9th Experts Meeting, will greet the foreign delegates at a reception Monday the 24th.
It is absolutely amazing to see the broad range of Coast Guard talent converging here in Seattle to support the event. Logistics specialists, operational planners, linguists, and general duty members are providing exceptional support to ensure our guests have a productive meeting and a uniquely American experience.
