Upcoming Events

Plan the future of your South Bay shoreline and wastewater facility

A three-year master plan process has been launched to make sure you can rely on your wastewater treatment facility for years to come.

The San Jose/Santa Clara Water Pollution Control Plant Master Plan addresses how to best rebuild the 53-year old wastewater treatment facility and use the 2,600-acre property. Implementing new treatment technologies creates the opportunity to envision new land uses, such as jobs-based development, a clean tech center, expanded habitat protection areas, and community amenities such as trails.

On May 16th, 2009, a Community Workshop was held to educate the public about the wastewater treatment plant (the Plant) and the Plant lands. They discussed the infrastructure issues the Plant faces, and gathered input about possible scenarios for uses of the Plant lands. More than 100 members of the community attended, toured the Plant, and provided input.

Two more workshops will be held as part of the master planning process.  Be a part of planning the future.  Attend a Plant Master Plan community workshop to help guide the future of the Plant and and provide input on land use scenarios for the Plant lands. Check back soon for more details.

View upcoming and past event agendas and meeting minutes.

The tributary agencies are committed to going beyond the required public outreach to develop a Plant Master Plan that reflects community values. You are encouraged to participate in Plant Master Plan events to learn more about the project and provide feedback.
