Aging Infrastructure

Many of the Plant's facilities and equipment are now exceeding their designed life expectancies.  An estimated $1 billion is needed to overhaul the Plant over the next 10 to 15 years, including $250 million for critical improvement or replacement items over the next five years. These critical items include replacing electrical cables, rebuilding five of the 16 digesters, and replacing decaying concrete.

Electrical systems need $73 million of improvements.

Digester tanks need $30 million of rehabilitation.
